A little while back we were singing the praises of a Norwegian kid who we thought would go onto big things this year and next called AURORA. One high-street department store ad later and she's arguably the hottest new singer-songwriter on the planet. Now, we aren't saying that the next kid to step out of the country will be heading for similar fame and glory, but dePresno may just have what it takes. The boy from Bergen (coincidentally, AURORA's from there, too) just dropped his second single, 'Stranger In Disguise', which follows the sparkling 'Forever', and once again we're filled with hope. It's an exercise in sweet pop sincerity, with pensive drum machines rolling away to reveal dePresno's smooth, expressive vocals and a chorus packed with uplifting, resonant pianos. Look out for a full EP - and maybe a Christmas commercial - in 2016. - DC
